PRE-TRIP INSPECTION


  • Check under the motorcycle on approach for obvious leaks, obstructions, etc.
  • Check for damage, preferably from top to bottom, from left to right, while moving in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • Check front wheel for tread depth, wear and damage, sidewall damage, inflation, valve cap, spokes wheel hub, oil and grease leakage (visual inspection only)
  • Check front disc for wear (if possible)
  • Check front shocks/forks for damage, security and oil leakage.
  • Check front mudguard for damage and security.
  • Check left front indicator for damage, cleanliness and security.
  • Check controls cables on left side of handle bar.
  • Check fuel valve for leakage.
  • Check gear lever and left front footpeg for damage.
  • Check left rear footpeg, chain guard, chain (tension) exhaust and shock for damage and security.
  • Check left rear indicator for damage, cleanliness and security.
  • Check rear light, number plate for damage.
  • Check rear wheel as described in item 3.
  • Check right rear indicator.
  • Check right side of wheel as described in item 3.
  • Check rear shock.
  • Check rear brake (wheel) and footpeg
  • Check exhaust for security.
  • Check carburetor and enjin for petrol and oil leaks.
  • Check rear brake and front footpeg.
  • Check right front indicator.
  • Check shock.
  • Check tyre and rim for damage.
  • Check license
  •  Check fuel cap seals (on tank).
