Wow – what a ride.
From the day I made up my mind to go book for a learners licence for a scooter, sitting down to write amongst a group of teenagers. Being told about Biker Safe Academy, phoning to make an appointment.
That first Saturday, giving up after 3 hours. My body hurt, but by Thursday, I phoned and went back, and was put on a Yamaha 250. Thoughts of a scooter were gone. Billy thank you for finding me a bike.
Then to find the courage to get out on the road. I went away for a month, came home and had to stop and think about all the advice you had given. Look at myself and change both physically and mentally. Clothing -Safety /Protection first. Mentally – accepting myself, and to find my space on the road. Being aware and looking.
January and the start of heading for the licence. Practise, practise, practise, building up strength.
I also start to ride on country roads. Observing other riders. Then the day I realised that I was riding for the pure joy of riding.
This morning I got my licence, thank you Andre for being there, Billy and the rest of your team for your support.
Now a bigger bike and where to from there?
